The singer and talent show judge has become a Taliban target due to her vocal women's rights activism. Currently living under a fatwa, she is forced to live in a heavily guarded compound. Since President Trump's announcement that he will withdraw troops from Afghanistan, the US has included the Taliban in withdrawal negotiations. Many Afghans, especially women, fear this will increase the Taliban's influence.
